Аннотация
This article summarizes a selection of pragmatic advances in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery in 2026. Of note, these developments stemmed from a wide range of domains. In liver surgery, indication for surgical resection in hepatocellular carcinoma has been expanded. The value of prehabilitation programs and liver venous deprivation has been emphasized. In pancreatic surgery, simple measures such as avoiding drainage after distal pancreatectomy and intensifying antibioprophylaxis after pancreatoduodenectomy led to decreased complication rates. From a technological standpoint, minimally invasive surgery continues its promising rise in HPB surgery.
