Аннотация

OBJECTIVE

We systematically reviewed the literature regarding the use of transcranial direct current stimulation in older adults with any psychiatric disorder and cognitive impairment, focusing on its potential to enhance cognitive functions, particularly working memory.

METHODS

Data extracted included stimulation parameters, patient characteristics, and cognitive outcomes.

RESULTS

Findings were mixed; variations may be due to differences in stimulation parameters, disease severity, and neuroanatomy.

CONCLUSION

Combining transcranial direct current stimulation with cognitive training showed synergistic effects.
