Аннотация
OBJECTIVE: To report a novel approach for conjunctivochalasis using argon laser photocoagulation.
DESIGN: Noncomparative clinical interventional study.
PARTICIPANTS: We studied 5 eyes of 5 patients with epiphora due to conjunctivochalasis.
METHODS: The patients underwent argon laser photocoagulation between April 2011 and July 2011 at Myongji Hospital. The preoperative and postoperative tear break-up time, tear meniscus height, conjunctivochalasis grading, and improvement of symptoms were evaluated.
RESULTS: Most patients showed improvement of epiphora symptoms. No significant complications were observed during the follow-up period of more than 3 months.
CONCLUSIONS: Argon laser photocoagulation is a simple and effective procedure for treating epiphora caused by conjunctivochalasis.
