Radiographic Anatomy of the Temporomandibular Joint.
Аннотация
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is an important joint that facilitates movements in the maxillofacial region. It is located between the mandibular fossa of the temporal bone and the articular tubercle of the mandibular bone. Surrounded by a joint capsule, this joint contains a fibrous disc that divides the joint space into 2 parts. Understanding the complex anatomic structure of the TMJ and examining its bone and soft tissue components using the appropriate imaging modality play a critical role in managing TMJ disorders. Proper imaging is essential for accurately assessing the joint's condition, identifying any abnormalities, and guiding effective treatment plans.
