Serological Diagnostic Strategies for Autoimmune Metaplastic Atrophic Gastritis.

BACKGROUND

The clinical manifestations of AMAG are diverse and easily overlooked. The exact diagnostic criteria for AMAG are yet to be standardized, and serological tests lack clinical practices.

METHODS

This case report demonstrates the process of searching for etiologic agents in a patient with PA.

RESULTS

Serological tests showed positive APCAs, decreased serum pepsinogen (PG)I, decreased PGI/PGII ratio, and increased serum gastrin (GAS). After supplementation with hematopoietic raw materials such as vitamin B12 and folic acid, the patient recovered well.

CONCLUSIONS

This case report demonstrates a better exploration of serological diagnostic strategies for AMAG.
