Аннотация
A 28-year-old man presented with a 2-year history of painless loss of vision in the left eye after accidental contact with a high-voltage electric wire. Examination revealed a distinctive linear scar extending from the scalp across the left forehead and face to the upper lip, reminiscent of a lightning-bolt mark (Figure 1A). The best-corrected visual acuity was 6/6 in the right eye and hand motions in the left eye. Slit-lamp examination of the left eye showed a mature white cataract with dense anterior capsular fibrosis (Figure 1B). Ultrasonography of the posterior segment was normal. A diagnosis of unilateral electric cataract was made. The patient underwent phacoemulsification with posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation. Intraoperatively, scissors capsulotomy was required to release the fibrosed capsule. The post-operative visual acuity of the patient was 6/12.
