Аннотация
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a strong marker of cardiovascular risk. Secondary prevention is crucial, yet often insufficient. The vascular specialist plays a central role in managing PAD by initiating comprehensive therapeutic strategies and providing specialized follow-up. Long-term effectiveness, however, depends on close collaboration with the general practitioner to ensure continuity of care, patient motivation, and optimization of treatments. The coordinated management of cardiovascular risk factors requires personalized follow-up that combines pharmacological interventions and lifestyle measures. This collaboration between vascular specialists and general practitioners shows patients that both professionals speak the same language and reinforces adherence to preventive measures.
