Аннотация
Tegumentary leishmaniasis is a zoonotic disease globally distributed, considered one of the main neglected tropical diseases and strongly associated with poverty. It is endemic in the Americas, Asia, and Africa, and its transmission is linked to forest and wildlife areas. Cutaneous leishmaniasis include atypical forms such as disseminated cutaneous leishmaniasis (DL), an entity first described in Brazil in 1920, which has evidenced an increase in incidence over the past 20 years. The Plurinational State of Bolivia, one of the countries in the Americas with the highest number of reported cases of cutaneous and mucosal leishmaniasis, has not yet recorded any cases of DL. We present a case of DL imported from eastern Bolivia (Beni and Santa Cruz departments) in a 59-year-old patient who received antiparasitic treatment with good clinical response.
