[Results and main principles of surgical treatment of heart wounds].

In the years 2000-2009 there were 108 patients with wounds to the heart. The main group of the victims consisted of able-bodied men in the state of alcohol intoxication. Vast majority of the patients had stab-incised wounds of the chest, injuries of the left ventricle and isolated pericardium being prevailing. Penetrating wounds of the heart were diagnosed in 68 patients, 9 of them had perforating wounds. The average time of prehospital period was (48.2 +/- 24.2) min. During the recent four years the time from admission to hospital to operation became 18 min shorten at an average. Postoperative lethality of patients with stab-incised wounds of the heart varied from 55.5 to 15.4%. The author has formulated the main principles of treatment of such category of victims.
