Аннотация
Chronic expanding intracerebral hematoma is a special type of intracerebral hematoma. It is clinically rare and has a high misdiagnosis rate, requiring a combination of clinical and pathological analysis for definitive diagnosis. A middle-aged woman presented with right limb numbness. Neurological examination showed a Glasgow coma score of 15, the national institute of health stroke scale of 2, and a modified Rankin score of 3. The muscle strength was graded 4/5 (MRC grade). Cranial CT and MRI imaging's revealed an irregular hematoma in the left basal ganglia and thalamus. Following surgical evacuation, pathology confirmed chronic expanding intracerebral hematoma. The patient recovered well and was discharged. Chronic expanding intracerebral hematoma is a rare disease with a high misdiagnosis rate. However, when the hematoma presents characteristic imaging findings, it can be helpful for diagnosis. Surgical resection is currently the definitive treatment.
