BACKGROUND: A primary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the head and neck is a rare neoplasm with an incidence of 1%. The clinical features depend on localization.
PATIENTS: The clinical features, the method of diagnosis, and response to treatment of two cases with different localization were analysed.
RESULTS: For diagnosis immunohistological and serological investigations are necessary.
CONCLUSIONS: The method of treatment is determined by complete staging.
