Dual-bracket segmented arch technique as a rescue therapy for anterior implant site deficiency following failed clear aligner root control: An adult case report.
Аннотация
Insufficient implant site space resulting from the inclination of adjacent tooth roots is a common clinical challenge in implant dentistry, often necessitating orthodontic intervention. This case report describes a 30-year-old patient who underwent the clear aligner therapy at an external clinic for a distal displaced maxillary central incisor caused by the missing adjacent lateral incisor, yet the failed root control resulting in distal tipping of the central incisor root, prompting her to seek further management at our institution. An innovative dual-bracket segmented arch technique was employed to upright the root of the central incisor, thereby creating adequate space for implant placement. The orthodontic treatment was completed within 6 months, achieving 2.6mm of controlled root movement without the need for miniscrew anchorage, thereby successfully fulfilling the patient's chief complaint with the minimal treatment complexity. This approach offers a novel, non-invasive, and efficient orthodontic solution for managing insufficient implant site space due to localized root inclination, particularly in patients who decline miniscrew intervention and require only localized treatment.
