Аннотация
OBJECTIVE: To explore aspects of anorexia nervosa occurring in older populations, especially men, by reviewing the literature and presenting a case study of an elderly man with unexplained vomiting and weight loss.
METHOD: The literature is reviewed and an illustrative case study of an elderly man with unexplained vomiting and weight loss is described.
CONCLUSIONS: Anorexia nervosa is an uncommon cause of unexplained weight loss in the elderly, but may be under-recognized and associated with a high level of mortality.
