Аннотация
This paper outlines initial testing and verification of a prototype developed to measure the location of chest compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The future goal of the project is to add visual guidance and CPR quality measurement to the system in order to guide the first responder to perform CPR at the optimal chest location. The prototype uses a flexible grid of silicone-embedded force sensors to measure the location of chest compressions on the thorax and has built in adhesive to easily and securely mount it on the chest of the patient. The prototype was developed with input from paramedics to minimize change in workflow when utilizing the system.
