A Rare Case of Boerhaave Syndrome With Chylothorax Managed by an Endoscopic Over-the-scope Clip.
Аннотация
BACKGROUND
Boerhaave syndrome presenting with chylothorax is rare and usually requires surgical interventions. We hereby report a case of Boerhaave syndrome with chylothorax that was successfully managed with endoscopic clipping.
CASE REPORT: A 62-year-old woman presented with chest pain and dyspnea. Initial evaluation was suggestive of left-sided chylothorax. A computed tomography of the thorax revealed a fistulous communication between the esophagus and left pleural cavity. The patient can be managed successfully using an over-the-scope clip.
CONCLUSION
Boerhaave syndrome can rarely present with chylothorax, and endoscopic closure of the defect should be considered as a minimally invasive alternative to surgery.
