Аннотация

We present a rare case of isolated iliac bone cryptococcosis in an immunocompetent patient from India. The patient presented with severe, persistent back pain, significantly impacting daily activities. Comprehensive evaluation led to the diagnosis of iliac bone osteomyelitis by Cryptococcus neoformans. The patient was successfully treated with a prolonged one-year course of fluconazole therapy, resulting in complete resolution of symptoms without recurrence. This case highlights the importance of considering fungal osteomyelitis in atypical bone infections, even in immunocompetent individuals.
