The authors reviewed the relevant literature to find out whether vexed questions of stomatological research or dental practice (such as conduction in the dentine, prevention of pain produced by cavity preparation, conservative treatment of pulpitis) could be settled by means of the substance P. It seems that this is not the case at present.
