Due to its non-invasive, cost-effective, and radiation-free properties, ultrasound gained increasing attention in dentistry. As technology and concepts have evolved recently, intraoral ultrasound has emerged as a promising dental diagnostic imaging modality. This review highlights the latest developments in intraoral ultrasound imaging, explores its clinical potential, and addresses current challenges. It aims to offer clinicians a thorough overview of intraoral ultrasound characteristics and diagnostic applications, promoting its integration into oral disease management and supporting the delivery of precise and safe patient care.
