A Case of Hemoptysis due to Rupture of Bronchial Varices Requiring Multidisciplinary Treatment.
Аннотация
BACKGROUND
This paper describes a rare case of hemoptysis caused by the rupture of a bronchial varix.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 68-year-old man was admitted to the hospital due to recurrent episodes of hemoptysis. Bronchoscopy showed a cord-like lesion in the left main bronchus, and the findings of the subsequent endobronchial ultrasound and bronchial venography on the third hospital day led to a diagnosis of hemoptysis due to a bronchial varix rupture. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, hemostasis was achieved by performing a combination of treatments, including bronchial artery embolization, percutaneous transvenous bronchial venous embolization, and endoscopic variceal sclerotherapy.
CONCLUSION
Successful management of bronchial varix rupture requires early diagnosis and collaborative hemostatic procedures involving multiple medical specialties.
