Jennifer Mather is a Professor Emerita in the Psychology Department at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, unusual for a marine biologist. She has a fascination with cephalopods, particularly octopuses, and a strong belief in the importance of field research as well as good university teaching and the inclusion of women and other 'minorities' in science.
