The invention in this patent application relates to substituted piperidin-2-one derivatives represented generally herein as formula 1. These compounds are activators of AMPK and may be used for the treatment or prevention of diseases, conditions, or disorders ameliorated by activation of AMPK, such as heart failure and other diseases.
