Current concepts in the microbial etiology and treatment of chronic periodontitis.

Аннотация
This paper attempts to provide a review of the microbial etiology of chronic periodontitis and the effects of different therapies on clinical parameters and, specifically, in the composition of the subgingival microbiota. Focus is given to the studies from our research group that have employed checkerboard DNA-DNA hybridization as a microbiological diagnostic test.
