Аннотация

Sunlight's ultraviolet radiation is a major cause of both short-term (like sunburn) and long-term (like aging) skin damage. While traditional sunblocks use chemical filters (absorbing UV) or physical/mineral filters (reflecting UV) for prevention, researchers are exploring new topical agents with natural or synthetic ingredients for added protection. Building on our previous work with a safe, antibacterial biomass-derived material-cyanoacetyl microcrystalline cellulose (CAMCC)-this study investigated its ability to protect rat skin from UV induced inflammation. The results showed that the tested topical cream (TTT) containing CAMCC significantly reduced UV-induced erythema, inhibited inflammatory mediators, and restored collagen levels in the rats. This superior performance suggests CAMCC could be a new ingredient for sun-care products, capable of preventing sunburn.
