Аннотация

A novel electrochemical sensor for rapid and accurate determination of vitamin B12 (cobalamin) has been fabricated using shockwave treated Fe3O4 nanoparticles as electrode material. Among different exposure levels, 200 shockwaves exposed Fe3O4 modified glassy carbon electrode exhibited high electrocatalytic activity towards oxidation of cobalamin with two prominent anode peaks at -0.75 V and -0.55 V corresponding to Co(I/II) and Co(II/III) ions. With wide linear response range of 0.05-487 μM and low detection limit of 7.62 nM, the fabricated electrode displayed a very high selectivity towards cobalamin in the presence of 100-fold excess of sucrose, urea, uric acid, glucose, and a number of Vitamins (B1,B2,B3,B5,B6,B7,B9, and C). Practical application of the sensor has been demonstrated by measuring cobalamin in pharmaceutical supplement, and food samples like cow milk, pasteurized milk, goat liver, meat, spleen, and chicken liver. The proposed sensor with unique features could be useful for vitamin B12 detection in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
