Prompt exploratory laparotomy with surgical correction is essential to prevent extensive bowel gangrene, as nonsurgical management options are typically ineffective or unsafe. The high morbidity and mortality associated with delayed intervention highlight the urgent need for heightened awareness and rapid decision-making to optimize outcomes.
