Relationship between height of cheer basket toss and specific physical ability of bases from a kinematic perspective.

In competitive cheerleading, the basket toss is one of the most important and typical skills of cheer. This study aims to address the lack of theoretical research on improving the height of the basket toss. Structural observations and a video recording were made of the straight ride. Factor analysis, Spearman correlation analysis and the grey correlation analysis method were used to determine the relationship between the height of the basket toss and the specific physical ability of the bases. According to the law of kinematics, to increase the height of the basket toss, the bases and flyer should follow the basic principles of maximizing the dynamics and training to master the stability skills for the basket toss. When using the same flyer and athletes of similar skill levels, coaches can choose bases with a large hand-foot distance and arrange base training in the following order: core strength & stability > explosive upper/lower limb power development.
