True progress was achieved when the laparoscope was first used to explore the extraperitoneal space. Up to 25 reports on laparoscopic bladder neck surgery have been published in the past five years, and a few present prospective data. Laparoscopic surgery for the other aspects of pelvic floor reconstruction is still only timidly mentioned and in the case study stage.
