Аннотация
Recurrent pterygium presents a significant challenge in ophthalmic surgery due to its high rate of recurrence and associated complications. We describe a case of a 70-year-old male with a third recurrence of pterygium in the right eye, complicated by symblepharon and inferior fornix shortening. Surgical intervention included pterygium excision, corneal scraping, peripheral lamellar keratoplasty (PLK), and fornix reconstruction with an oral mucosal graft. An amniotic membrane transplant was used as an adjunct. Postoperatively, the patient showed progressive improvement in corneal transparency and visual acuity. This case highlights the role of PLK in recurrent pterygium with corneal involvement and fornix reconstruction.
