Аннотация

BACKGROUND

Multimodal therapy in hair restoration represents a sophisticated amalgamation of cutting-edge treatments, including autologous multispin platelet-rich plasma, topical minoxidil, oral finasteride, correction of nutritional deficiencies, hormonal treatments, and lifestyle modifications. This comprehensive approach aims to provide a nuanced understanding of efficacy, safety, and patient acceptance in the management of noncicatricial alopecia.

METHODS

This study, conducted at the esteemed Rajarajeswari Medical College and K2 Aesthetic & Hair Pvt Ltd, engaged 350 participants (294 men and 56 women). Subjects included both male patients (grades 1-7 on the Norwood-Hamilton scale) and female patients (grades 1-3 on the Ludwig scale), representing a spectrum of androgenetic alopecia and other noncicatricial hair loss conditions. Each participant underwent a minimum of 8 sessions of platelet-rich plasma therapy.

RESULTS

For men classified under grades 1-5 and women under grades 1 and 2, significant improvements were observed with the multimodal therapy. Men in grades 6 and 7 and women in grade 3 also demonstrated encouraging progress, although the extent of improvement was less pronounced. Specifically, the mean hair diameter increased from 64.9 ± 5.45 µm to 71.02 ± 6.62 µm, and hair density showed a similar upward trend, rising from 95 ± 9.56 hairs per cm2 to 139 ± 18 hairs per cm2 after 8 sessions.

CONCLUSIONS

These data underscore the substantial benefits of multimodal therapy in hair restoration, particularly for individuals with androgenetic alopecia and other noncicatricial forms of hair loss. This integrative approach demonstrates safety and efficacy for enhanced management of hair loss.
