Аннотация
OBJECTIVE
Occupational wellbeing is an important resource to actively promote the development of social work practice. However, how the working pressure affects the occupational wellbeing of coaches in grass-roots sports schools in China has not been fully discussed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of working pressure on the professional wellbeing of coaches in grass-roots sports schools in China, especially the chain intermediary mechanism of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy related to individual coaches.
METHODS
Using cross-sectional design and structured questionnaire, 518 coaches from grass-roots sports schools in China were investigated.
RESULTS
Working pressure can directly and negatively predict the professional wellbeing of coaches in grass-roots sports schools in China, and at the same time, it indirectly shows the relationship with professional wellbeing through three ways. (1) the independent intermediary role of emotional intelligence, (2) the independent intermediary role of self-efficacy, and (3) the chain intermediary role of emotional intelligence and self-efficacy.
CONCLUSION
These findings illustrate that coaches' emotional intelligence and self-efficacy are positive psychological mechanisms to promote professional wellbeing, and highlight their key roles in improving the professional wellbeing of coaches in grass-roots sports schools in China.
