Finger crush injury caused by an injury mechanism: a case report.
Аннотация
INTRODUCTION
Finger injuries caused by H-shaped jeans buttons are infrequent and involve a unique injury mechanism; few cases have been reported. We present a case to discuss this unique injury mechanism's characteristics and treatment strategy.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 54-year-old Chinese woman presented to the emergency department with right index finger pain accompanied by numbness, paleness, and dysmotility after being accidentally stuck by a jeans button when working. We initially analyzed this unique injury mechanism and formulated a corresponding treatment strategy. After timely and effective treatment, she achieved a good prognosis.
CONCLUSION
The mechanism of finger injury resulting from an H-shaped jeans button is distinctive, and is characterized by penetrating injury coupled with continuous compression of the affected finger. It is crucial to understand this injury mechanism fully, perform a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's condition, promptly release the compression to restore blood circulation, and meticulously explore and repair any damaged structures during surgery. Additionally, close postoperative observation is essential to achieve a favorable prognosis.
