Аннотация
Primary Health Care has great potential to intensify Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) actions. Municipal Health Plans (PMS) define actions to be developed and establish an intersectoral agenda for promoting FNS according to the characteristics and demands of the population. This study aims to describe the epidemiological profile characterized in the PMS of municipalities in a predominantly rural region of the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) and to identify the intentionality of actions to promote FNS in health planning. This is a descriptive documentary study, originating from the analysis of the PMS for the four-year period 2022-2025 of twenty-six municipalities in RS. Chronic diseases, overweight, and obesity were highlighted in all plans. Actions that presuppose intersectorality were expressed mainly in the Health in Schools and Bolsa Família programs. There were no mentions related to food insecurity in the PMS, in addition to the fact that only five direct mentions of FNS were found. Although municipalities have included aspects related to food and nutrition in their plans, they are still incipient in view of the epidemiological and social situation experienced by the rural population.
