Аннотация
PURPOSE: To gain insights into the causes and effects of fall-related long lies and to develop resources and interventions to support affected individuals.
METHOD: In the qualitative study, semi-structured interviews with affected patients (n = 5) and their informal caregivers (n = 2) were triangulated with a group discussion of health care professionals (n = 4). All conversations were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using Bohnsack's documentary method.
RESULTS: The analysis resulted in three main categories: (1) causes of fall-related long lies, (2) effects of fall-related long lies, and (3) resources and interventions of fall-related long lies. Assessing the bio-psycho-social causes and effects of the long lie is necessary to stabilize the affected individual bio-psycho-socially and prevent future long lies.
CONCLUSION: Affected individuals should be supported in managing fall-related long lies, helping to reduce negative emotions, recognize their resources, and cope with the incident.
