Аннотация

HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use among cisgender women, particularly Black women, remains low in the United States, partly due to limited provider comfort prescribing PrEP. This study evaluated a culturally tailored educational training designed to improve provider knowledge and confidence in prescribing PrEP to Black women at federally qualified health centers. From January 2024 to April 2025, interactive Zoom trainings were conducted at 11 sites in Florida and Illinois. Pre- and post-training assessments measured objective knowledge and self-rated attitudes toward PrEP prescribing. Changes were analyzed using odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Among 138 participants, approximately half were physicians (n = 44, 47%) and one-quarter nurse practitioners (n = 25, 27%). Post-training, correct responses increased for 4/11 knowledge items (OR = 3.03-4.34), while comfort and ability to discuss PrEP with Black women increased across all five related items (OR = 2.86-6.41). This culturally tailored training improved provider knowledge and confidence, potentially advancing PrEP equity.
