Аннотация

This randomized controlled trial examined the effects of combined sensory and strength training (SST) on postural balance and working memory in children with dyslexia. Twenty-nine dyslexic children (six females/23 males; mean age: 9.79 ± 1.44 years) were assigned to three groups: a SST group, a strength training group, and a control group. The intervention lasted 6 weeks, comprising three sessions per week, with each session lasting 45-60 min. Preassessment and postassessments included measures of postural balance and working memory, with muscle strength evaluated as a secondary outcome. After training, postural balance improved significantly (p < .001) only in the SST group. Moreover, both training groups showed significant improvements in working memory (p < .001) and muscle strength (p < .001) compared with baseline. The SST intervention could be integrated into school-based physical education programs or occupational therapy sessions to support motor and cognitive development in dyslexic children.
