Аннотация

In an era of rapid technological advancements, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region stands at the forefront of health care innovation, leveraging real-world evidence (RWE) to drive transformative changes. RWE, derived from real-world data such as electronic health records and patient registries, provides actionable insights that supplement clinical trial data, thus enhancing clinical decision making and policy formulation. The utilization of RWE has become crucial, especially in addressing the diverse health care needs of the APAC region. Despite the potential, APAC faces significant challenges, including heterogeneous data collection methodologies, limited technological infrastructure, and regulatory disparities. To overcome these barriers, collaborative efforts among governments, health care institutions, and industry partners are essential. The methodology of this study involved the collaboration of a group of experts to assess the current state of RWE utilization, explore challenges and opportunities, and synthesize recommendations for harmonizing RWE practices. The APAC Oncology Drug Development Consortium Working Group recommends harmonizing data standards, fostering collaborative partnerships, and promoting policy innovations to facilitate the effective use of RWE. By focusing on these areas, APAC can enhance data quality, aiding health technology assessment, improve health care delivery and decision making, and achieve better patient outcomes. The successful integration of RWE into decision-making processes will require a unified approach to data standards, robust quality assurance measures, and a commitment to ethical data-sharing practices. As the health care landscape continues to evolve, embracing RWE offers a promising pathway to accelerate therapeutic innovations and improve public health across the region.
