Аннотация
Superscattering overcomes the single-channel limit of 2λ/π of a subwavelength structure by exciting multiple scattering channels. However, the weight of traditional core-shell superscatterers grows quadratically as the wavelength increases, hindering their applications at low frequencies. Here, we propose a hollow cylindrical shell model for superscattering and realize a lightweight origami superscatterer, with a density of only 22.6 mg/cm3. The Drude dispersion of the permittivity of the origami layer can be flexibly adjusted by changing the folding angle of the mountain-valley structure. The hollow superscatterer achieves a scattering intensity 3.7 times the single-channel limit at 2.37 GHz. By adjusting the folding angle, a weak-scattering window can be achieved at 3.19 GHz. Furthermore, the hollow cylinder exhibits anisotropic load-bearing capacity in the axial and radial directions in experiments, with a ratio exceeding 850. Radial deformation enables the scattering peak to be tuned from 2.79 GHz to 3.23 GHz. This work presents a promising origami superscatterer using a mountain-valley structure in the S-band, which has the advantages of being lightweight and deformable.
