Digital dynamics in integrated primary care: Clinician perspectives and a rapid workflow for mobile health adoption through a couple and family technology lens.
Аннотация
Objective
This study aimed to examine clinicians' perspectives on integrating mobile health (mHealth) applications in integrated primary care and, drawing from these perspectives, to develop a pragmatic workflow for guiding adoption, applying the Couple and Family Technology framework and the technology acceptance model (TAM). Method: We used a mixed-methods study combining a TAM-based survey (N = 68) with semistructured interviews (n = 10). Quantitative domains included perceived usefulness, ease of use, attitudes, facilitating conditions, and intention to adopt; qualitative data were analyzed via framework analysis.
Results
Clinicians expressed modestly positive acceptance of mHealth, identifying four adoption domains that informed the development of a pragmatic workflow-clinical fit, implementation barriers/benefits, relational impacts, and integration strategies.
Conclusions
Integrating mHealth in integrated primary care is as much systemic and relational as technological. Combining the Couple and Family Technology and TAM clarifies why adoption succeeds or stalls. Implementation should pair standardized app vetting with role-clear workflows and clinician training. Implications for Integrated Care: A pragmatic Rapid mHealth App Triage Workflow (Table 5) supports team-based app selection and use in integrated behavioral health care.
