Аннотация
Preference signaling is an increasingly important component of the dermatology residency application process, yet perspectives on the current tiered signaling model remain incompletely understood. We surveyed US dermatology residency leadership and faculty to evaluate experiences with and opinions of the existing system. Overall, respondents expressed broad support for tiered preference signaling while identifying opportunities to improve consistency, equity, and transparency. Areas for potential refinement included guidance for special applicant groups, interpretation of signals, and the role of geographic preference. Ongoing evaluation of the signaling process may help optimize residency selection for both applicants and programs.
