Аннотация
A β-selective synthesis of glycosyl esters has been developed via visible-light-mediated radical coupling of glycosyl bromides with N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHPI) esters. Conventionally, NHPI esters serve as precursors to alkyl radicals; this strategy instead unveils the generation of an acyloxy unit, which is captured at the anomeric centre before fragmentation, thereby establishing a C-O bond rather than a C-C bond. A Pd(PPh3)2Cl2/Xantphos system operating under 40 W blue LED irradiation afforded glycosyl esters.
