Nurses rely daily on patients' histories through anamnesis, one of the foundational acts of nursing care, yet often maintain a more uncertain relationship with their own professional history. This article explores this paradox and examines the functions of nursing history in a context of professional transformation. Beyond its memorial dimension, nursing history emerges as a critical, pedagogical, and disciplinary resource that contributes to professional coherence, knowledge transmission, and the development of nursing science.
