[Gender and age characteristics of cases of disability during the pandemic of coronavirus infection in Moscow].
Аннотация
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a global stress factor for population health in most countries, including Russia. The high prevalence and economic burden of diseases make it important to study the regional characteristics of population morbidity among different population groups. The aim of this study was to identify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on temporary disability cases among residents of Moscow by gender and age, based on data from a primary healthcare organization. The assessment was based on data from 2019 to 2024. The dynamics of the total number of disability cases from 2019 to 2024, as well as their distribution by gender and age categories, were analyzed. The «disability coefficient» was calculated for the entire attached population and for specific gender and age groups. The average duration of days of disability due to respiratory diseases during the study period was also evaluated. It can be stated that the female part of the working population was more likely to apply for disability leaves, and the 35-49 age group had the highest number of temporary disability cases. There were no significant differences in the duration of temporary disability cases between men and women.
