Аннотация
OBJECTIVE: to study the dose-dependent hypolipidemic effect of ϖ-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: An open, single-center, prospective study was conducted at the clinic of the Federal Research Center for Nutrition and Biotechnology. The tolerability, safety, and effectiveness of dietary therapy enriched with various sources of ϖ-3 PUFAs at dosages ranging from 300 to 3000 mg per day were evaluated in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
RESULTS: The study of different sources and dosages of ω-3 PUFAs demonstrated their good tolerability and safety, and revealed a dose-dependent effect on lipid profile parameters. The study demonstrated the dominant effect of different sources of ω-3 PUFAs on serum TG levels in patients with CVD.
CONCLUSION: The results of this study suggest that the inclusion of ω-3 PUFAs in the basic diet of patients with CVD and hyperlipidemia has an additional anti-atherogenic effect.
