Аннотация

Accurate assessment of glomerular filtration rate is central to renal evaluation in clinical and preclinical settings. Transcutaneous glomerular filtration rate offers practical advantages over conventionally measured glomerular filtration rate, including minimally invasive and continuous monitoring, but requires robust validation. The observations by Shimada et al. highlight both the promise and limitations of transcutaneous glomerular filtration rate, particularly in conditions that affect distribution volume, underscoring the need for rigorous evaluation across diverse physiological and disease states.
