Introduction to Allergy Modeling Across Species with Ethical and Regulatory Considerations.
Аннотация
Allergic diseases affect the health and quality of life of humans and domestic animals. The prevalence of allergic diseases is increasing and likely associated with changes in climate and lifestyle conditions with decreased exposure to beneficial microorganisms. Animal models include multiple species (e.g., mice, rats, zebrafish, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, sheep, swine, monkeys) that are essential to study the immunological mechanisms of allergic diseases and to evaluate new therapies that can be beneficial for both humans and animals. The animal models contribute to overcoming ethical limitations in human research and have been scientifically validated with the required approval of ethical committees for animal experimentation. The animal models guide allergy modeling with different methods and translational protocols disclosed in the Methods in Molecular Biology book, "Allergic Disease Models: Methods and Translational Protocols".
