Concentrated Growth Factor in Pulp Revascularization for Young Permanent Teeth with Traumatic Pulp Necrosis: A Retrospective Controlled Study.
Аннотация
Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF), a platelet-derived biomaterial, has shown promise in tissue regeneration. This retrospective, non-randomized controlled study evaluated the clinical efficacy of CGF combined with pulp revascularization in immature permanent teeth with traumatic pulp necrosis. A total of 102 teeth treated between April 2022 and March 2024 were allocated to a control group (pulp revascularization alone, n = 51) or a CGF group (pulp revascularization combined with CGF, n = 51) based on the treatment actually received. Follow-up occurred at 3, 6, and 12 months. At 12 months, the CGF group showed higher clinical (100% vs. 88.24%, P = 0.027) and radiographic success rates (98.04% vs. 84.31%, P = 0.031), greater improvements in root development parameters (all P < 0.05), and a higher rate of positive pulp sensibility response (88.24% vs. 68.63%, P = 0.016). The CGF group also showed higher CBCT gray values of newly formed intracanal tissue, greater mineralized tissue deposition, higher bite force and masticatory efficiency, and lower postoperative IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α levels (all P < 0.05). Within the limitations of this retrospective study, CGF combined with pulp revascularization was associated with improved clinical and radiographic outcomes, greater root development, and better functional recovery. These preliminary findings require confirmation in prospective studies with larger samples and longer follow-up. Because no histological evaluation was performed, the observed improvements should be interpreted as evidence of repair rather than histologically confirmed regeneration.
