Аннотация

In biomedical engineering, hydrogel bioelectronics brings together the interface between flexible electronic devices and biological systems, opening up a new way for chronic neural regulation. Here we focus on the recent progress in this field, from material design to system integration. The design of high-performance conductive hydrogels is an entry point. The multi-level structure engineering strategy, such as the introduction of carbon nanotubes or conductive polymers, can raise the conductivity and mechanical toughness together. When biomimetic adhesion molecules such as polydopamine or tannic acid are added, the hydrogel has the ability of wet tissue adhesion, and anti swelling and active anti-inflammatory functions are also embedded in the material system. As a result, the resulting neural interfaces are not only more durable in practical applications but also ensure excellent biocompatibility. Turning to applications. How does this kind of material promote the development of chronic neuromodulation technology? Peripheral nerve repair, brain computer interface, spinal cord injury, autonomic nervous system regulation can be seen in several scenes. The long-term and high-precision recording and regulation of neural signals is exactly the most important link in these applications. Hydrogel electronics does have its own uniqueness in this regard. However, there is still a long way to go between laboratory research and clinical transformation. How to ensure long-term stability? Can controllable degradation be achieved in practice? Will the signal fidelity drop with time? How to optimize wireless operation and system integration? Large scale manufacturing is an unavoidable reality test. These directions are probably the worthy areas for follow-up research. Looking forward, if the lines of intelligent response materials, closed-loop sensing and control, and advanced micro processing technology can be screwed together, hydrogel bioelectronics may truly move towards the next generation of personalized, dynamic and adaptive neural diagnosis and treatment platform.
