Аннотация
We report an operationally simple synthesis of γ-pyrones via the defluorinative annulation of α-trifluoromethyl ketones with 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. 18O-labeling experiments revealed that an intramolecular 1,3-oxygen transposition occurs within the α-trifluoromethyl ketone moiety during the transformation. Downstream transformations have also been demonstrated to showcase the utility of this protocol.
