Аннотация

This paper examines the textual and semiotic characteristics of regulatory GCGCs. We hypothesize that the coding mechanisms for structural and regulatory genes differ fundamentally due to their distinct biological functions. Specifically, while the standard GC relies on separate signs, regulatory codes operates on sequence motifs and their combinations as functionally significant elements.. To explore this, we employ the concept of "text as a signal" formulated by Yu. Knorozov and A. Pyatigorsky, alongside distinction between alphabetic and hieroglyphic codes. We demonstrate that regulatory codes function as signal-texts. Their context-dependent operation relies on unique mechanisms because they encode functional operations-such as activation or repression-rather than amino acids or proteins. This functional difference gives rise to a hierarchy of nested codes and coding mechanisms ("languages"), each possessing its own semiotic organization, coding processes, and modes of generating meaning. Ultimately, we emphasize the importance to explicate the principles that govern how these diverse codes interact to realize hereditary information.
