Efficacy and safety of intravitreal conbercept injection in treating macular oedema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion: results from the BRAVE study.
Аннотация
BACKGROUND/AIMS: To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal conbercept injection for treating macular oedema secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO-ME).
METHODS
This study included 255 patients with BRVO-ME who were randomly divided in a 1:1 ratio into conbercept and control groups. From month 6, the conbercept group received PRN conbercept, while the control group received one conbercept injection followed by PRN dosing. The primary efficacy outcome was a least square mean change in the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) letter score from baseline at 6 months.
RESULTS
The least square mean change in BCVA letter score from baseline was 16.9±0.9 and 8.9±0.9 (p<0.0001) at 6 months and 17.1±0.9 and 14.1±1.0 (p=0.0252) at 12 months in the conbercept and control groups, respectively. Further, the least square mean change in central retinal thickness from baseline was -296.4±9.0 µm and -233.9±9.2 µm (p<0.0001) at 6 months and -270.0±8.4 µm and -301.4±8.6 µm (p=0.0095) at 12 months in the conbercept and control groups, respectively.
CONCLUSION
Intravitreal injections of a 0.5 mg conbercept provided improvement in visual and anatomical outcomes in BRVO-ME patients with low rates of ocular and non-ocular safety events.
